BioGas Scrubber

Reduction of CO2 in BioGas

Recent developments in energy security have increased the viability of BioGas reactors as a source of Methane for multiple applications.

For some of the applications the concentration of CO2 that comes out of the reactor is too high to be suitable.

That is where the custom CO2 Scrubber system designed by Apex fits. Using our years of experience in PSA systems we are able to provide solutions and advice on how best to proceed.

From purification, to Oxidation of exhaust, to CO2 capture and storage each of these steps are available to be included in your desired application.

CO2 Extractors

The CO2 extractors are the primary method for purification of the gas stream, others are available depending on the quality of Gas required from the system. PSA systems are able to operate across a wide range of possible outputs meaning that our systems can be adapted onsite for different desired outputs should the demands of the system change

Oxidisation and capture

Utilising catalytic combustion technology the Apex Zero Air series provides clean hydrocarbon free air for the most demanding of applications. Once connected to a compressed air source the system has no moving parts and will provide no restriction to the air flow through the system with a minimised power requirement.

This existing Apex technology is the bases for eliminating the Methane emissions from the scrubber exhaust and reducing the environmental impact.

CO2 capture is a possibility with this system and would only require some additional elements to complete the process
